Personal Training in Columbus, OH
Get in the best shape of your life without living in a gym. Built around the life you already have.
Book Your No Sweat OrientationThe honest part
You've been here before. That's the hardest part.
You know what it takes. You've started and stopped enough times that starting again is the hardest part of it. That voice telling you you'll end up back here is the thing I actually coach against.
The philosophy
In today's world, we often struggle to transition from the whirlwind of our thoughts to being present with our physical selves. At Fight For Your Fitness, we are dedicated to helping people transform into the best version of themselves by embracing holistic wellness through physical training, mindful living, and balanced nutrition.
Rooted in the philosophy of martial arts discipline, our approach focuses on cultivating self-respect, self-love, and mental clarity. We believe that true transformation begins with a strong relationship with oneself, which we foster through personalized training that includes strength and mobility training, MMA, as well as mindfulness techniques to manage stress properly.
We aim to empower our clients to achieve sustainable lifestyle changes that enhance their physical and mental well-being, allowing them to live with confidence, energy, and joy. We reject extreme diets and perfectionism, advocating instead for a balanced, enjoyable path to lifelong health.
Four pillars.

Accountability
Check-ins, daily tasks, and you can reach me any time. That is what makes two days a week work.
Life Balance
You don't have to live in a gym or give up your life to change your body.
Nutrition
Real food you actually like, simple tracking, no fad diets and no guilt.
Community
You are not the only one starting over, and you won't be doing it alone.
What changes.
You stop starting over
The accountability between sessions is what breaks the cycle. You're not alone on the days you're not training.
You build a life that holds
One or two sessions a week. The plan fits your life instead of replacing it.
You eat like a normal person
Real food, simple tracking, no guilt. Something you can live with for years.
Why trust this
Walking in when you're not happy with where you are takes guts. The last thing you need is someone shouting at you or treating you like a project.
I'm an active professional athlete and I train you with the system I use on myself. You get a coach still in the arena, not one who peaked a decade ago.
I'm NASM certified, and I build your program around recovery and longevity, not just output.
Half the people I coach are women. You won't be yelled at. You'll be coached.

How it works
Three steps. That's the whole thing.

No cost, no pressure. We talk through your goals, your schedule, and what's derailed you before.
We build the plan around your actual life
Not a template. Your days, your food, your real constraints.
I coach you between sessions
Check-ins and adjustments on the days you're not in the gym. That's the part that works.
Personal training in Columbus that fits your life
If you have been looking for a personal trainer in Columbus, OH, most options fall into two camps. A class where you are one of thirty people sweating for an hour, or a trainer who puts you on a treadmill and counts reps. Neither changes the part of your life that actually needs changing.
I'm Max Metzgar, and Fight For Your Fitness is built around what happens between your sessions rather than just during them. You train with me one or two days a week, and the coaching continues in between through daily tasks, regular check-ins, and being able to message me when something comes up. The days you are not in the gym are the days people normally fall off. That is the part this is designed for.
Your programme is not a template. It is built around your schedule, your food preferences, and the things that have derailed you before. Strength and mobility, some MMA, and ways to manage stress, because the physical and the mental are not separate problems. No fad diets, no perfectionism, no guilt. I reject the all or nothing approach because it is the reason most people end up back where they started.
I'm an active professional athlete and I coach you with the system I use on myself. I'm NASM certified. Half the people I train are women. You will not be shouted at and you will not be made to feel like a project. Book a No Sweat Orientation and let's build something that fits the life you actually have. If you join and do not love your first week, you get your money back.

Started the program with zero mma experience - Max met me where I was at, helped me build my fundamentals, and kept me at a pace where I felt involved but not overwhelmed. Overall excellent coaching across all levels, with attention to detail and solid technique as the focal point, in addition to a supportive and encouraging community. Highly recommend

Max is a wonderful personal trainer! He's a great listener when it comes to your goals and an encouraging presence in the gym. The atmosphere is fun and nonjudgmental while still focused and engaging enough to see results. 10/10 would recommend!

I worked with Max to put together a private birthday boxing event for my boyfriend and his friends, and it was an absolute hit! Max guided everyone through a variety of punches and combinations, keeping the energy high and the vibe fun throughout. He wrapped up the session with some friendly sparring, which everyone loved. Max made the whole experience easy to plan and incredibly enjoyable from start to finish. I'd highly recommend him for your next private event
